If you are a graduate or professional with a background in computing, networking or related fields with a desire to update your skills in cyber security and expand your network, then this course is for you. The MSc Cyber Security programme offers modules in a range of essential topics, including network security, cyber incidence management, cyber forensics and open source intelligence.
MSc Cyber Security aims to provide students with technical skills in cyber security, while also improving their understanding of secure design principles, through modules such as systems architecture, and how to respond to cyber incidents, with modules such as 'cyber incidence management.'
Uniquely, this cyber security programme offers a module in open source intelligence, which is an emerging, popular field found at the intersection of cyber security, forensics and intelligence.
It also offers modules in business development and innovation and responsibility, which will help you understand how your cyber security skills may be commercialised and applied to business and other domains.
First, upper second-class honours degree, lower second-class honours (or equivalent non-UK qualifications) in a relevant subject, or an equivalent professional qualification in a related subject.
If you are applying directly from an undergraduate degree course without experience or professional practice, you must be able to demonstrate a good knowledge of your chosen subject area.
In order to be eligible for this course, you will need to be a competent speaker and writer of English. This also applies if you are from the European Union, or if you're from a country outside of the EU.
You need to provide us with an IELTS or equivalent English language qualification, which demonstrates a minimum of 6.0 (with a minimum of 5.5 in each sub test) or CEFR Level B2 in each component.

Applications are welcome from a wider range of backgrounds and experience including from students who may not necessarily possess formal academic qualifications. It is important that applicants can demonstrate an aptitude for learning and continued professional development through a research-led approach.
We welcome suitably-qualified applicants who are able to demonstrate a good level of skills in areas associated with visual communication. This may include but is not limited to: graphic design, branding, art direction, advertising, motion graphics, information design, data visualisation, UX/UI design and AR/VR experience design.
To get a holistic view of your ability and aptitude to succeed on the course, we will also consider your enthusiasm and interest in the subject area, how you manage the creative process, previous study and your professional skill-set. A PDF portfolio of visual work is required.
