Overview

The program’s mission is to prepare for an exciting career in the fast-growing worldwide Hospitality and Tourism Industry. The program’s aim is to develop knowledge and skills impose to effectively manage different types of hotels such as Resorts, Clubs and Casinos.

Learning Outcomes

• Upon completion of the program, students will be able to:
• Argue on the functional areas of a Hotel, Casino and Resorts and critically evaluate the principles that influence them.
• Effectively choose and apply management strategies and principles for a Hotel, Casino and Resorts.
• Determine the Hotel, Casino and Resorts related trends.
• Justify and support the role of Hotels, Casinos and Resorts in the local, regional and global economy.

Entry Criteria

A non-discrimination student admissions policy is strongly followed by Mesoyios College. Candidates for admission at Mesoyios College, are considered without reference to race, colour, religion, sex, handicap or national origin. Thus, the diversity of the student community is a goal for Mesoyios College’s admissions Office in order to bring a diverse range of academic backgrounds, experiences, special interests, talents and cultural heritage.

It is mandatory for all candidates to possess a Higher Secondary School Leaving Certificate or equivalent qualification (in their country of origin). A Higher Secondary School Leaving Certificate with an average mark of at least 50%, 10/20, or equivalent qualifications.

Proficiency in the English language is required for all programs taught in English. An English placement test is given to all incoming students. Its purpose is to determine the proficiency level of a student so as to recommend appropriate placement in English courses. Students with qualifications in English language such as: IELTS – 5, IGCSE – D, TOEFL IBT – 70, Password Test – 5, Anglia Examinations – Intermediate, Michigan Language Assessment (Proficiency of Michigan) – ECCE (52), Cambridge GCE AS Level English Language – C, University of Cambridge Exams – PET-Preliminary English Test will be able to follow normal program requirements (as described in individual program pathways).

The program, Hotel, Casino and Resort Management, of Mesoyios College helps to prepare professionals to start their own hotel and/or casino business, start a franchise business or hold a managerial role in a hotel, casino, club, resort, or places such as, companies, colleges and universities. On the way to advancement to the rank of General Hotel/Casino Manager and Director of a hotel and/or casino unit, graduates of the this program will be able to reclaim positions such as Gaming Manager, Head Receptionist, Reservations Manager, Front Office Manager, Rooms Division Manager, Floor Supervisor, Executive Housekeeper,

The hotel industry basically affects every industry, and the well trained and educated professionals in the field of middle and higher management are in great demand today. This number is expected to be increased dramatically over the next few years and very soon after the global financial crisis.

Pathway to GLION

Option 1:

After comparing and matching the curriculum of the two institutions, Glion Institute of Higher Education recognizes a combination of subject courses from the four-year program of Hotel, Casino and Resort Management (Bachelor).

Students have the opportunity to take one (1) semester plus optional internship (24 week internship*) at Glion and earn a transcript with credits counted against their home degree.

Option 2:

Students who successfully complete the four-year program of Hotel, Casino and Resort Management (Bachelor) have the opportunity to continue their studies for the award of a Master’s degree at Glion.

Pathway to LES ROCHES

Option 1:

After comparing and matching the curriculum of the two institutions, Les Roches recognizes a combination of subject courses from the four-year program of Hotel, Casino and Resort Management (Bachelor).

Students have the opportunity to take one (1) semester plus optional internship (24 week internship*) at Les Roches and earn a transcript with credits counted against their home degree.

Option 2:

Students who successfully complete the four-year program of Hotel, Casino and Resort Management (Bachelor) have the opportunity to continue their studies for the award of a Master’s degree at Les Roches.

* Paid internship (guaranteed placement by Glion or Les Roches) in esteemed luxury hotels and great potential for a full employment after internship and an international career in hospitality industry around the world.

Tuition Fees

• Duration 4 years = 240 ECTS
• Total Tuition 4 Years = 7000 Euro

The above tuition fees DO NOT include the application fee, academic registration fee, use of technology fee, laboratories fee and academic activities fee.

Special discounts and scholarships are available to students upon request. Applications are examined by the Academic Committee on individual basis.

Course Credits (ECTS) completed at other recognized institutions will be evaluated and may be transferred to the College according to the regulations of the Cyprus Agency of Quality Assurance and Accreditation in Higher Education (CYQAA). The evaluation fee is €50. Official Transcripts and course descriptions in English need to be submitted.

Payment of Tuition and Other Fees

Tuition and other fees are payable before or at least upon registration for each academic year. For International students, the fees are payable before the submission of the application for VISA (Entry Permit) according to the regulations of Cyprus Civil Registry and Migration Department. For every following academic year, tuition and other fees should be paid in full prior or at least upon registration.

Payment Options

All payments to the College should be made in Euro (€) through bank transfer and students are advised to always mention their full name and passport/ID number.

Scholarships and other forms of financial assistance

Scholarships – As part of its social contribution and its effort to create incentives for healthy academic competition, Mesoyios College offers the following total / partial scholarships:

• To Students with Financial Needs
• Scholarships to families with financial problems.
• Scholarships to families with many children/siblings.

To Athletes

Students who actively participate in College’s sports teams have the opportunity to reclaim athletic scholarships, the amount of which is determined upon request and choice.

Sports scholarships cover up to 40% of tuition. In any case, the exact percentage depends on the sports category and the participation and performance of athletes in various sports and other activities of the college.

To Excellent Students

• Scholarships based on academic performance in college

• Scholarships through Lyceum / Technical Schools

Mesoyios College offers for each Lyceum / Technical School scholarships to graduating students, lasting one academic year. Candidates for these scholarships are proposed by each Lyceum / Technical School.

There are 21 Scholarship Positions offered. More specifically, in each Lyceum / Technical School College offers:

• A Full Scholarship (100%): A Full Scholarship (100%) for the first academic year of study. Applicants must have graduated with an overall grade of 19 or higher (Cypriot grading schema).
• Five Half Scholarships (50%): Five Half Scholarships (50%) for the first academic year of study. Applicants must have graduated with an overall grade of 18 or higher (Cypriot grading schema)..
• Fifteen Partial Scholarships (30%) for the first academic year of study.
