Marketers are needed to change the way customers of all kinds – whether business or individual consumers – buy, recommend, donate, pay their taxes, obey the law, or more generally how they behave, and live, ideally more healthily and happily.

As well as your award of Master of Science, you will also receive the Chartered Institute of Marketing’s Certificate in Professional Marketing (subject to validation and you taking the additional preparation and exams).

Entry requirements

An undergraduate degree with at least 2:2 honours degree (or equivalent).

International requirements

If English is not your first language you will need to achieve an IELTS score of 6.5 overall with no less than 6.0 in any section (or equivalent).

Course content

As well as all the most important theories, ideas and developments in marketing, you will learn how to make yourself a better marketing manager. You’ll learn how to research and understand the behaviour of consumers and industrial customers.

You will also work on a major research or consultancy project, exploring a particular market, company or situation using the best research techniques and the latest theories. You can link this with your work placement or current job if it can offer relevant research or study opportunities.

To ensure you are in touch with the latest developments in marketing, you will also learn about contemporary issues in marketing, whatever they may be at the time.

Teaching methods

You'll be taught on our beautiful and historic campus located in Twickenham, London.

As well as highly interactive lectures, you will be working in groups on case studies. In seminars you will practise the skills you need to be an effective marketing manager, often working with students on our other Master's programmes to give you the experience of working cross-functionally.

You will be taught by a team that includes award-winning marketers, excellent lecturers, leading researchers and experienced professionals. You will learn using the latest digital resources and techniques.

Assessment methods

You will be assessed in a variety of ways throughout your degree to test knowledge, understanding and skills development.

The programme uses a broad range of assessments including business reports, essays, practical exercises, presentations, case studies and assessed blogs. Wherever possible, you will be assessed using digital methods and online feedback.
